Bee and Wasp Stings

Usually handled at home. Call your vet if it gets worse or you are unsure.

What to do

  1. Look for a bee sting and scrape it out sideways with a card: don't squeeze it
  2. Hold a cold compress on the area for 10 minutes
  3. Watch them closely for the next hour

Go to the vet if

  • They were stung in the mouth or throat
  • They were stung many times
  • Their face swells, or breathing changes: see Allergic Reaction
